After sending your CV and application, getting invited to an interview is a great step forward. An interview can feel nerve-wracking, but don’t worry, you can also practice for the interview in advance.

At Luotea, we believe that every day is an opportunity to grow. The same applies to job searching. We’ve put together six practical tips to help you prepare for a job interview and make the best possible impression, authentically and as yourself

6 Tips for a Job Interview

1. Find out the interview location and route in advance

Check well in advance where the interview will take place and how you’ll get there. It’s a good idea to look up public transport schedules or parking options ahead of time to make sure you arrive on time. When you arrive calmly and with time to spare, you avoid unnecessary stress and have a chance to gather your thoughts. A short moment to breathe before the interview can work wonders.

2. Review the job posting before the interview

Did you save the job posting? Read it once more before the interview. The posting highlights the key aspects of the role. Revisit them and think about how your skills match the desired qualities. During the interview, you may be asked why you should be chosen and what motivates you about the position.

3. Present yourself as energetic and genuine

First impressions are made quickly. Introduce yourself, maintain eye contact with the interviewer, and speak clearly. Be yourself,  we value authenticity and honesty! If you feel nervous, it’s okay to say so.
Dress neatly and appropriately for the occasion. This shows that you respect the opportunity and have prepared carefully.

4. Write down your questions and ask them during the interview

If something is unclear, write down your questions and bring them with you. At the end of the interview, there’s usually an opportunity to ask your own questions, make the most of it.

Good questions show interest and preparation. They demonstrate that you’ve familiarized yourself with the role and want to understand the team and organization you’d be joining.

5. Bring your CV for support

Sometimes nerves can catch you off guard. A printed CV can be a helpful support during the interview, allowing you to quickly check dates or recall previous roles if you lose your train of thought.

6. Remote interview? Make sure the technology works

If the interview is held remotely, check well in advance that your connection works. Test your camera and microphone, and make sure your devices are charged. Choose a quiet, well-lit space where you can focus.

If the interview is recorded, you can outline your answers beforehand — but avoid reading directly from paper. Answer questions concisely and with an upbeat tone, and you’ll do great.
A job interview is a fantastic opportunity for mutual understanding. At Luotea, we want to learn how you think, act, and bring your expertise to our shared work.

Good luck with your interview!
